The SIG/Hammerli P 240 center Fire pistol is recoil-operated and mechanically locked. Reloading takes place automatically after each shot until the magazine has been emptied. Following the final shot, the slide does not remain open. The pistol is produced in the following calibers: 38 SPL WC, 32 S&W long and 22lr. ( the latter two are blow-back operated without mechanical locking). conversion units are available.
